Uncle Mike was always larger than life. He had that deep voice and gave the best hugs. He always had a soft spot for us girls. He will be missed. I love you!
Our hearts are breaking for Sherry, Jason, Justin & James. I (Lisa) am so glad that I had a brief conversation with Mike on Monday evening; he sounded so good & so happy to be coming home . . .so thankful that he had that time with Justin & Sherry. He always had a smile & usually a pat or a hug for "Aunt Lisa" as he referred to me & I will miss that terribly. We have also always appreciated Mike's love & goodness toward Brock; he was a wonderful Uncle to him & we have never & will never forget that. He had a strong personality & fought fiercely for his beliefs, which I have always respected and admired, even when he was a huge minority in doing so. Love you, Mike & you will ALWAYS be remembered & missed by so many.

In just a few hours, we will gather together to say our final goodbye. Our hearts are heavy and burdened with our sadness and loss. Mike was always kind to our family. When he asked "how are you?", he always seemed genuinely interested. I will miss his smile, laugh, and hugs most of all. Sherry, Jason, Justin, and James please know that we love you. Love you and miss you, Mike.
Mike, Being an "above avg size" guy, very few men have intimated me. The first and most was Galen...that was probably because I was in love with his youngest daughter. You, were the second. When I first met you, I had instant respect. Your size, your stature, and your service were intimidating beyond measure. Your personality I got to know over the 32+ plus years matched your stature and size. I will never forget your friendliness, some of the stories, and your laugh. My family and I will miss you tremendously.
Sharon, so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. Prayers.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We had so much fun being with Mike and talking to him in woodworking class. He made unique and interesting canes, just like him.
So sorry for your loss.
