Private interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery, Flora.
Gladys F. Hamilton, age 103, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020, at Flora Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
She was born February 18, 1917, in Clay County, Illinois, the daughter of Robert Lee and Mable (Passmore) Bowen. She was united in marriage to Rodell Theodore Hargis and he preceded her in death December 13, 1978. She later married Clintie Eugene Hamilton and he preceded her in death November 7, 1993.
Gladys worked at the shoe factory, Four Sisters Manufacturing, and was a Nurses Aide. She was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church in Flora.
She is survived by a son: Franklin “Frank” (Norma) Hargis of Flora; 3 grandchildren: Rebecca (Keith) Belcher of McLeansboro, Randy (Lisa) Hargis of Flora, and Scott (Donna) Hargis of Flora; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 step-great-grandchild; and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; 2 brothers: Carl and Ralph Bowen; and 6 sisters: Mildred Yonaka, Thelma Altadona, Margie Haeber, Genevieve Pauline Lewis, Audrey Blacksher, and Helen Gibson.
Private interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Arrangements are in the care of Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Randy, Lisa and family, I am so sorry to hear about Gladys she has left this world for her place in heaven. I had been praying for her and I had prayed I would get to visit with her again, that day will come when I go to heaven as I know I will see her beautiful smile. So very sorry to Randy and Lisa Harris and all the other family!! Miss Gladys was one of my favorite little ladies that I had the pleasure of taking care of for a few years before I moved to Texas!! She was such a joy and I always enjoyed visiting with Randy and Lisa they were such good people and were always so good to me!! May the lord be with you and your family to comfort you in this time!!!

A great reunion is occurring. I can picture all the sisters and brothers reunited and welcoming Aunt Gladys to heaven. Genevieve will be so happy to see her. She left a beautiful caring family. You are all her legacy. Thinking of all the memories you will share in the next few days. Our Condolences to Frank and Norma, Becky and Chuck , Randy and Lisa, Scott and Donna and all the families that knew and loved this dear one. 103 years. Wow. Amazing.
