Visitation: 3 until 7 p.m. Saturday at Oil Belt
Interment: Bunker Cemetery
All attending the visitation or funeral should enter through both the north drive entrance and north building entrance, and social distancing guidelines are recommended.
Janae Diane Pollard, age 18, of Rinard, Illinois, was received in heaven by the loving embrace of Jesus on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
Janae was a precious gift from God, born April 23, 2002, in Fairfield, the firstborn daughter of Donnie E. and Joni D. (McPeak) Pollard.
Janae lived her life to the fullest while embracing an awesome relationship with Christ, and was always willing to share her heart and passions with her family and friends. She worshiped at Christ’s Church of Effingham and Red Brush Christian Church, enjoyed reading her bible, and had recently returned from a home-building mission trip to Mexico. She was a graduate of Olney Central College, and had just begun work on her teaching degree at Eastern Illinois University. Through her years of dedicated training in tumbling, trampoline and double mini-trampoline, she became a nationally recognized champion, and went on to encourage many other young athletes to follow their dreams through her coaching at Power & Grace. Janae loved working in the outdoors and gardening, and especially having fun in the water while tubing, swimming, and boating. She avidly participated in 4H by showing cattle, and was recognized for her Grand Champion Steer in 2019 which earned multiple fair awards. Her cheerful and smiling face was familiar to customers and shared with co-worker friends at the Flora Dairy Queen. Janae brought so much love and joy into the lives of others around her, and that smile shines on—forever a gift from heaven.
She is survived by her parents: Donnie and Joni Pollard; her sisters: Cami and Graci Pollard; her fiancé-to-be: Bryce Gullidge; grandparents: Ronald and Carolyn Pollard, and Linda McPeak; aunts and uncles: Norman Pollard, Tricia (Joe) Morgan, Darlene Pollard, Dennis McPeak, and Scot (Deana) McPeak; and cousins: Kyle, Dylan, Grant, Ashlynn, Kenna, and Logan.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather: John McPeak; and great-grandmothers: Lucille Goodson and Thelma Lewis.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2021, at Oil Belt Christian Service Camp in Flora. Interment will follow at Bunker Cemetery, near Rinard. Visitation will be from 3 until 7 p.m. Saturday at Oil Belt. All attending should enter through both the north drive entrance and north building entrance, and social distancing guidelines are recommended. There is a time to grieve and it is now, the loss of a beautiful soul has left our midst and your home. We all know she had so much potential for earthly honor and success but she achieved in her short life span, so much more than many do. She has impacted this community with kindness and goodness, and giving honor to her Lord Jesus. The scriptures say Angels walk among us, she may be credited as being one! Prayers of comfort.

Our community is stricken with the tragic news of Janae Pollard’s passing. However, when reading different posts and comments about the impact she had on each of us and positivity she exuded and kindness and love for God and her family, I am encouraged by such a young lady and her influence on all of our lives. She was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and fiancé; kind and caring friend, teacher, and co-worker; a fellow student; and many more titles. She held these titles with grace and a pureness in her love for God. May we all learn to care, love, and live more like Janae and cherish each of our memories of her in our heart. Our prayers and thoughts go out to her family and friends in dealing with our loss and heaven’s gain.

Not that we knew Janae personally, but she was in gymnastics with our Granddaughter Surie Enyart. Seen her perform many times, what a beautiful and talented young lady. She will surely will be missed. May she Rest in Peace

Being a faithful DQ customer, I was blessed to see her beautiful smile frequently. From what I read on Facebook, at the young age of 18, she left a legacy. So many good things will come from Janae, even though she is not here physically. God has a plan, and that plan is not over. It will continue to bless people and I have believe even souls will be saved. May God give you all strength and comfort.

I will never forget the last time I saw Janae - She smiled at me so beautifully. It was not just a normal smile, but she smiled with her heart and her soul. I felt as if I had truly been touched by an angel. I know that I saw the beauty of God in that one brief moment. I thank God for such a treasure. My deepest condolences to all of her family, friends, and acquaintances. My heart breaks for every one of us who are left to grieve our tremendous loss.
