Edgar H. Monical Jr., age 79, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday morning, April 6, 2021, at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham.

   He was born October 15, 1941, in Clay County, Illinois, the son of Edgar H. and Rosetta (Cook) Monical Sr.  He was united in marriage to Sara Trail on March 22, 1969. 

   Ed was a graduate of Clay City High School.  After High School he attended Olney Central College until going to work helping his father on the family farm.  He later joined the Laborers Union working in construction until his retirement.  Ed enjoyed time spent outdoors fishing and hunting, and especially hunting for birds such as quail.  He was a member of the Winterrowd Masonic Lodge.

   He is survived by his wife: Sara Monical of Louisville; and a son: Joseph “J.D.” Monical of Louisville.

   He was preceded in death by his parents.
