Graveside Ceremony: 10 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Elmwood Cemetery, Flora

Michael D. Johnson, age 59, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021, at Flora Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
He was born September 17, 1962, in Flora, the son of Earnest Eugene and Doris Ann (Dagg) Johnson.
Mike worked for the mailing center in Flora and transferred to Tennessee. He later retired from working due to his health. He enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo, and watching sports and football. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan and loved cracking jokes.
He is survived by 2 sisters: Mary (Norman) Brown of Leoma, TN, and Michelle Johnson of Flora; 1 niece: Chelsea Brown; 2 great-nephews: Ryder Davis and Kolton Strange; a great-niece: Nya Strange; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; longtime friend: Karen DeWeese; maternal grandparents: Vernon and Georgia Dagg; paternal grandparents: William and Ina Johnson; and a brother: Mark Johnson.
A graveside ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Those attending are asked to arrive directly at the cemetery. Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora assisted the family with arrangements. Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with final expenses and will be accepted through the funeral home. I watched Mike grown up, waited on him and his family when I worked at IGA. Mike was a friendly young man. Prayers of comfort for all the family and friends
We worked with Mike at the mailing center and later we were neighbors when Mike moved back from Tennessee. Mike was a good guy that wouldnt think twice about helping someone. RIP Mike we will miss you bud
Mike was a big race fan and friend, one of those that would see you, and maybe it had been a year and he would just pick up like he had seen you yesterday. Godspeed Mike.
Sorry for the family's loss, my prayers are with the family. I used to work with Mike yrs back at CCI. He was a very nice man. Fly high bud!!!

Mary and Michelle so sorry to hear about Mike. Our family is growing smaller here on earth. One day though we will have a big reunion in heaven. Love you guys.
Mary and Michelle, So sorry that you are having to go through this once again. Just remember all the good times and laughter throughout the years. Mike's body was definitely weaker than his soul and he is no longer in pain. I will definitely miss our banter back and forth regarding him being a Cardinals fan and me being a Cubs fan.
