Stephanie Leanne Harrell, age 54, of Flora, Illinois, found eternal peace with the Lord on Monday, November 15, 2021.
She was born March 9, 1967, in Fairfield, Illinois, the daughter of James and Judith (Billington) Shannon.
Stephanie had lived in Chicago for a number of years before returning to Southern Illinois. She loved her kids intensely and truly enjoyed being a mom. She was a great cook and was a longtime familiar server at the No More Nicotine Club in Flora. Stephanie was an outgoing conversationalist and would spend a few moments to talk with anyone. She enjoyed spending time listening to music and cared very much for animals, including her cat, Thor.
She is survived by her mother: Judy Shannon of Flora; a daughter: Abra Windle (Curtis Howe) of Flora; a son: James Harrell of Flora; 5 grandchildren: Ayvah, Layla, Ellie, Norah, Wren; and 2 brothers: John Shannon and Michael Shannon.
She was preceded in death by her father; great-grandparents: Wayne and Ernestine Billington; and very special friend: Troy Wyman.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, with Pastor Richard Artis officiating. A memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday. Private committal and burial will take place on Sunday, December 5, at Buckeye Cemetery near Geff. My condolences to the family. I didn’t know her very well. But, she held a special place in my grandma Kitty Erwin’s heart. I’ll be praying for her kids, grandkids and all who knew and loved her.

She always had the biggest heart....sometimes that can be a blessing and a curse. She was a kind person and I know she is at peace but gone to soon. She will be missed.

She was a wonderful person. A former sister-in-law and just beautiful inside and out. My love and prayers for the family are with them all.
Stephanie was one of my bosses at the former Ethridge's Restaurant in Flora from 2005 to 2006. She managed the restaurant for owner Larry Ethridge. Today, Ethridge's is La Fuente Mexican Restaurant. She had a lot of experience in the restaurant and bar industry. Phil Wiley was one of her bosses that she worked for in Flora. I believe the last time I saw her was in Flora back in September. She waved at me. However, the last time she talked to me was at HV's in Olney about two years ago. She was a waitress and bartender at HV's. This restaurant is where I noticed her daughter, Abra, for the first time. Before Abra was a nurse, she worked as a waitress at HV's. I still remember Stephanie and later her son, James. She will be missed by numerous people. I, along with many people who have known Stephanie for several years, cannot believe that she is gone and died too soon.
May you find comfort in the love and memories shared during this difficult time. Stephanie was absolutely stunning in her ability to work through the hardships and obstacles in her life. She always had a smile to share, spoke with pride of her children and grandchildren, and gave 100*/* to make those around her feel special. We will miss you, my friend!
Stephanie was a beautiful, kind person and I am so sorry to hear of her passing. We were old high school friends. Stephanie never met a stranger and loved to chat with everyone. We reconnected on Fb years later and she was so very proud of her children. May God comfort her family during this difficult time.

Abra, your precious daughter's and James... Words usually come so easy for me, but this has broken my heart like no other!! Loosing Connie was so very hard on us, but You my BEAUTIFUL friend cuts deep. We began our friendship long before our children, lost touch but she ALWAYS knew how much my family & I loved her. When we saw each other it was like we had never missed a day our friendship was that strong. Steph had a heart of gold, Always complimenting everyone. She never had a bad word to say of any individual, but that was Steph. She was one of the most Loving, Caring and if you were lucky enough to have her trust You were her friend for Life!! Her Love for her Children and Grandchildren were her Greatest Blessings to her. She Loved you all more than any words can ever express. My heart and soul goes out to each of you!! The saddest thing is she didn't relize her worth or her Beauty. I will ALWAYS CHERISH our many memories of the most BEAUTIFUL Soul, friend, and her BEAUTIFUL Smile and Loving hugs.
