RIP Densil Our Condolences
We are very sorry for your loss and you will be in our prayers.
Densil has been my friend since 1983, we worked on various construction sites together including his job site on Daufuskie Island SC. But my greatest memories are from our days of hunting and fishing all over the country plus Mexico. Densil was a smart, kind and compassionate man with a witty since of humor. His knowledge of firearms, plants and trees was surpassed only by his knowledge of history! I will miss our conversations and miss the man. I know he believed in the living God and is in a better place. My condolences to Rita his wife, his children and grandchildren. Prayers for all.
Growing up with Densil was a unique experience. Densil was a unique fellow. He always smiled, was usually quiet, not intentionally mischievous, although sometimes mischief could find him. He was always a good guy to be around. I always considered Densil a friend. Thanks, my friend, for being in my life. Mark Henson
We are so sorry for your loss.
Densil was a great friend and a father figure to me in the short time I have known him love and miss you Densil but I will light up the stairs for you to get to heaven my dear friend.
My first year as an English teacher was Densil’s junior year at Flora High School. On one of the first days of class, I made up a story to illustrate how language works. The story had lots of flaws in it, and Densil jumped all over them. I remember thinking after class, “Maybe teaching students to think for themselves isn’t such a good idea.” Actually it was a great idea, but nobody had to teach Densil to think for himself — he came by it naturally. Later that year, another student told me, “Densil understands Huckleberry Finn so well because Densil IS Huckleberry Finn.” I can’t think of a better way to be remembered.
Sorry for your loss Rita. Condolences to the family.
Rita, I did not get the chance to know your husband but I wanted to let you know - I'm very sorry for your loss! Kristy Kramer
I met Densil and his first wife, Millie, through mutual friends in Grayville in the mid-70s. Densil taught me to shoot a gun and he introduced me to my first husband, who he worked with in the coal mine. Millie and Densil were a big part of my life for decades. After Millie died several years ago, I got to meet Rita, his second wife. They both welcomed me into their home and their lives. I’m so sorry to hear of Densil’s passing and the loss to everyone who knew him.
