Annabelle Barnard, age 74, of Flora, IL died at 2:44 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, IL.

She was born November 9, 1938 in Xenia, IL to Ricie and Lois (Spicer) Brown. Annabelle was a talented seamstress and made quilts for her family. She loved her flower and vegetable gardens and enjoyed tending her bird and hummingbird feeders.

She is survived by 1 son: Norman Strange Sr. of Flora; 3 daughters: Carol Surrell of Flora, Brenda (Richard) Zwick of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Vivian Pruitt of Flora; 2 brothers: Rex (Betty) Brown of Flora, Donnie (Gloria) Brown of Kansas City, MO; 1 sister: Geraldine (Bus) Foreman of Sailor Springs; along with 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son (Lester Strange Jr.), and a sister (Judy Powless).

The funeral service for Annabelle Barnard will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Pastor Mike Evans officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Youth Fund.
