Celebration of Life: 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora
Memorial Visitation: 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home
Private interment will take place in Mount Vernon Memorial Estates in Lemont.
Russell Allen Vetter, age 69, of Flora, Illinois, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 9, 2022, at Flora Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
He was born August 2, 1953, in Lockport, the son of Earl F. “Bud” and Gertie H. (Palmer) Vetter.
Russell was a big man in size, but he was also a big man in heart and personality. He always had a smile and kind word for everyone he met. Russell was a very special man in his love and friendship and was always there to lend an ear if you needed to talk or a shoulder if you needed to cry. He loved to cook and was always trying new recipes. He also enjoyed watching movies, reading, and visiting with friends.
He is survived by his brother Ronald Vetter of Lockport; a cousin: Laura (Tom) Hale of Louisville, and good friend and caretaker: Chris Stidham.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother: Randy; and an aunt: Lucille Cook.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Joe Smith officiating. Private interment will take place in Mount Vernon Memorial Estates in Lemont. A memorial visitation will be held from 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Russell was a sweet and kind man. i've known for years. He could always bring a smile to your face no matter what you were dealing with. he will be missed.
