Danette Renee Sanders, age 58, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, at her home.

      She was born July 26, 1964, in Centralia, the daughter of Buddy Doyle and Barbara Pauline (Lance) Vest.  She was united in marriage to Brent Edward Sanders on November 16, 1985, at St. Matthews Church in Belleville and together they have shared 36 wedding anniversaries.

      Danette was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  A born-again Christian, she loved Jesus and cared deeply for everyone’s salvation.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Woodlawn.  Danette was an extremely tough woman who battled against cancer and fought daily for her family.  She owned thoroughbred racehorses and was a great horsewoman.  She loved all beautiful things and had a passion for horticulture and interior design.  Danette enjoyed reading scripture, tending to her flowers and plants, and spending time with her grandchildren.       

      She is survived by her husband: Brent Sanders of Belleville; 3 daughters: Rachel Renee Sanders of Cleveland, Ohio, Sarah Beth Johnson of Belleville, and Connie Lee (Tyler) Crites of Smithton; 6 grandchildren: Lea Renee Sanders, Zachary Dallas Priest, Vayda Marie Crites, Kendall Nicole Chacon, Issabella Evelyn Carter, and Dani Renee Crites; and a brother: Brent Doyle (Renne) Vest of Salem.

      She was preceded in death by her parents.

      A funeral ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2022, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Interment will follow in Jacob’s Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Ministerial Alliance Food Pantry and will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
