Celebration of Life Ceremony: 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home
James Glen Caudle, age 79, of Macks Creek, Missouri, and formerly of Xenia, Illinois, passed away January 11, 2023, at Flora Gardens Care Center.
He was born July 11, 1943, in Xenia, the son of Kenneth and Lillian (Lee) Caudle. He attended Xenia grade school and Flora High School, and at the age of 16, enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He valued his service highly and attained the rank of E-6. He proudly served his country whenever and wherever he was needed and was awarded many medals and honors for his service.
Jim loved fishing and started at an early age using a stick, a string, and a small rock for bait. His “fishing hole” was the family birdbath built by his dad. Of course, he always caught the biggest fish, and his arms could stretch really long. He enjoyed his love of fishing and passed it on to many children including his pride and joy, his great-granddaughter Josie. Jim was a special person, and his stories will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years: Donna Caudle of Macks Creek, Missouri; 3 sisters: Jackie Sue MacArthur of Friendswood, Texas, Cheri (David) Cook of Xenia, and Pat (Steve) Henry of Flora; 2 brothers: Joe Caudle of Flora and Mike (Tina) Caudle of Flora; 2 granddaughters; 1 great-granddaughter; brother-in-law and caretaker: Mike (Jackie) Hunsucker of Macks Creek, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews, and friends, including his best fishing buddy, Marvin Stewart of Newton, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Kenneth and Lillian Caudle; 2 sisters: Glenda Underwood and Carmen Lane; and an infant brother: Kenneth Lee Caudle.
A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Military funeral honors and a Celebration of Life Ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with final expenses and checks will be accepted through the funeral home.
