Charleen M. Osterholtz, age 75, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023, at her home.
She was born September 19, 1947, in Xenia, Illinois. She married Lee Roy “Butch” Osterholtz on January 13, 1967, in Joliet, Illinois. Butch passed away July 8, 2010.
Charleen was a dedicated employee of Hella in Flora for 23 years. She is remembered for her enthusiastic love of Elvis Presley and his music, and her enjoyment of bowling, attending concerts, caring for animals, working outside in her yard, and traveling—especially to visit with some of her best friends in Chicago. Charleen cherished all of her family, and this naturally included the Goldendoodles, Elvis and Sam, who shared her home.
She is survived by her daughter: Kristina (John) Zimmerman of Clay City, Illinois; 2 granddaughters: Kennedy and Khloe Zimmerman; 3 sisters: Rosalie (Mike) Slater, Ruby Weller, and Rhonda (Jim) Evans; 5 brothers: Roland (Ruth) Green, Randy Green (Timothy Winters), Rick (Mindy) Green, Roger “Sam” Green, and Robert (Freda) Green Jr.; a brother-in-law: Brad Eastin; a niece: Cathrine “Cat” Osterholtz; as well as a number of dear nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
She was preceded in passing by her parents: Robert William Green Sr. and Modena B. (Gaines) Green; husband: Butch Osterholtz; 2 brothers: Ronald Green and Ronnie Green; a sister: Rowena Green; a brother-in-law: Ron Weller; and a sister-in-law: Cheryl Green.
A funeral ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Burial will follow at Powers Cemetery, Xenia. A visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday evening, April 6, at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Fur a Good Paws and will be accepted through the funeral home. Heaven has gained an angel, I offer my deepest sympathy and condolences to her family and loved ones, I'm sure she's enjoying sharing time again with her loving husband, Butch, and other family members. She came from a very large family of the last name Green. She was a joy to work with at Hella and will be missed by many.

Charlene babysat my brothers and I for many years and was so wonderful to us. We felt like her home was our second home. We loved being a part of her family with her daughter Krissy and her husband. She still always made sure to smile and say hi to me any time she saw me. She was an absolutely wonderful woman and will be very much missed. Hugs Krissy.

I sure did get a lot of laughs with her. I would love to bowl with her. She was very good with children in different age groups. I surely will be missed by me.

I knew Charlene from our earliest days at Lincoln School. She was always so sweet and kind to others. I enjoyed seeing her at class reunions through the years. She was a faithful attendee. May she rest in peace.
