Deborah E. Klein, age 63, of Flora, Illinois passed away Saturday morning, April 15, 2023, at her home.
She was born August 14, 1959, in Flora, the daughter of Jack Shipley and Nancy E. (Eastin) Bassett. She was united in marriage to William E. Klein Jr. on August 22, 1975, at First Christian Church in Flora and together they shared 46 wedding anniversaries until his death June 22, 2022.
Deb was a paraprofessional in the Flora school district for many years. She then received her nursing degree from Frontier Community College and began working as a nurse for CILA Corporation. She enjoyed crafts, often sewing and making candles, and had a great love of animals. She and Bill had enjoyed camping and traveling with the grandkids, making many memorable trips over the years. Deb loved playing host to family and friends and cooking for family dinners and get-togethers.
She is survived by her 5 grandchildren: Rase Collins of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Ryder (Taylor) Collins of Flora, Rowdy Collins of Flora, Ava Beth Billingsley of Flora, and Rylan Billingsley of Flora; a great-granddaughter: Evelynn Elayne Collins; a sister: Kimberly (Bryan G.) Bullard of Rinard; a half-brother: Mark Kangas; stepfather: Iven “Bud” Bassett of Flora; a brother-in-law: Troy (Michelle) Klein of Medway, Ohio; and 2 sisters-in-law: Bonnita (David) Brown of Keller, Texas and Lorraine Waddell of La Crescenta, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter: Jessika Klein-Billingsley; an infant brother: David Michael Shipley; and a brother: Jay Bassett.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Private interment will take place in St. Stephen Cemetery, Flora. So sorry to hear of Debbie's passing. She was a great Wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend. I will miss her dearly but I am so happy she is with her heavenly family and her pain and tears are gone.

I was so sorry to hear of Debbie's passing. I worked with her at the school for several years and she was always ready and willing to help anyone. We took a class together at O.C.C. several years ago and we shared a lot of laughs. She helped me pass that class! Rest in peace, my friend.

Reunited with her Love . Deb had a big heart and loved her family dearly. We were saddened to hear of her leaving all so soon, but I am forever grateful that she reached out to me about 18years ago after never really even knowing her do to divorces and remarriages of our parents. I am happy that we got to meet a handful of times and get to know Deb, Bill and Jessika and meet some of their grandchildren. Deb you will be dearly missed but I am happy that you are pain free!!! Our love and condolences to the family!
Our cousin, Debbie, loved her family and friends. She had a kind heart and welcomed people into her life. Debbie fought the fight and now will rest in peace.

I worked with Deb as a paraprofessional. She was such a caring person. Several times she hosted Christmas parties for the Teaching Assistants where she served special culinary delights. It was the first time I tried caviar (and the last!). She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved her family fiercely. She will be missed. Condolences to her family.
Deb was my cousin and my friend from the time we were children. On my last visit she said she was ready and I told her I would never be ready but it was her time. So many good memories of visiting with her and Bill. I’ll miss them both. Rest well.
