Interment: Elmwood Cemetery, Flora
Visitation: 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home
Tony Randall Doty, age 63, of Flora, Illinois passed away early Thursday morning, May 4, 2023, at Deaconess Hospital in Newburgh Indiana.
He was born March 16, 1960, in Olney, the son of Darryl Randall and Elizabeth Ann (Ring) Doty. He was united in marriage to Dana Jo Jones on September 23, 2010, in Louisville, and together they have shared 12 wedding anniversaries.
Tony was a 1978 graduate of Flora High School. He had been employed at Minwax in Flora since 1979, working most recently as a Maintenance Supervisor. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin and motorcycle riding. Tony’s biggest joy in life was spending time with his family as a loving father, husband, and son. He had been a dedicated member of the Flora Volunteer Fire Department for over 36 years. During his time on the department he served as Captain, Assistant Chief, fought countless fires, and perhaps his most proud moment was pulling two people from a burning home.
He is survived by his wife: Dana Doty of Flora; 5 children: Korbin (age 12), Kyndall and Kathryn (age 6 ½), and Kolton and Karley (soon to be 5); mother: Liz Doty of Flora; parents-in-law: Nevel Marvin and Kathryn Jones of Louisville; brother-in-law: Mark (Karen) Jones of Flora; sister-in-law: Kris (Heath) Jennings of Clay City; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a great-great-nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Tre Schlief officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. A visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to an education fund for Tony’s children and will be accepted through the funeral home. To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com

I am so sorry!!! I love u and the kids very much xoxoxoxoxoxo
Dana, The unexpected and sudden loss of a spouse is something I am so sorry you are going through. Lean on God, friends and family for comfort and strength. On the really hard days, look into the faces of those 5 beautiful children and you will see him. When you need alone time, drive out to "the ground ", sit and look around. The pond, the trees, the cabin; it is him, he is everywhere there. That should bring you comfort. He is no longer flying down the highway on his motorcycle, but he is flying high with angel wings watching over the wife and children he loved so much. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Our deepest sympathy to the Doty Family.
Liz, There are just no words to say to someone who has lost their child other than I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers.

I took care of Tony as he was hospitalized at Deaconess. Tony always had a positive attitude and was forever talking about getting home to his children and wife. It’s easy to take care of very thankful people like Tony. He left a mark on me and I’m forever grateful for having the opportunity to take care of him. Not only did he touch me but all the other staff by how kind and patient he was. May he Rest In Peace. Condolences to his family as I’m positive he is deeply missed.
I had many friends in the class of 78 and Tony was one of them. Tony took me under his wing when i joined Flora Fire. I remember him chewing me out for good reason! Also remember the day he announced his marriage… he was so happy! It warms my heart to read about his 5 kids. RIP Tony! Such a loving and beautiful soul. VG class of 81.
