Jody Moldroski

Aug 10th, 1966 - May 7th, 2023

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

Jody Christine Butler Moldroski, of Ingraham, Illinois, was freed from her earthly body on May 7, 2023, at her home.

Jody was born on August 10, 1966, to Joe and Judy Butler who survive.  Also surviving are sisters Jana South, Joetta McFarland, and Jenessa Lutz, and a brother Jeremy Butler.  Also beloved nephews Jacob, Hunter, and Aden, and beloved nieces Jade, Jaci, and Trinity, and four brothers-in-law.

A brother, Johnny Butler (9/30/1967-1/3/1985) preceded her in physical death as well as her maternal grandparents, Willard and Julia Ann (Matlock) Workman, paternal grandparents, John and Emogene (Bales) Butler, and her husband, Kurt Moldroski in 1998.

Her physical death followed almost 26 years of disabilities, illnesses, and pain from an accident on July 19, 1997, when a teenager from Shelbyville ran a stop sign on the Lake Paradise Road southwest of Mattoon and demolished her truck and her “normal” life as she was traveling from patient to patient.

Jody was a hard worker and a kind and caring person who made her presence felt by her smiles and her laughter.  Thank you, Jody, for all the love and kindness.  Soar.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Hospice and will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com

Love you sis ...you were so very much more then your accident. You did occupational therapy. An extremely talented sculptor painter and artist. A beautiful singer and just a beautiful person. It's very obvious how much you loved your nieces and nephews and your siblings. If it wasn't for you, I would not be a doctor now . You gave me my start. You supported me when I had zero money. You paid for my first degree. Thank you! I'll miss you so much. Mom and dad Thank you for your selflessness and you're loving in your wonderful care of my sister. There's no way I would have got to enjoy the last 20+ years with her if it weren't for your care and her determination and stubbornness.

Jody was my God Mother. She came into my life long before I could recall. I spent most of my formative years helping to care for her, her beloved pets, and spending time with her family. Caring for her really just meant I got to go be spoiled at her house and clean some laundry and dishes sometimes. Her pets were like children to her. I’d really say I was an au pair of sorts who got to enjoy the freedom of a house with no other kids when my own home had 3 siblings to fight for attention, snacks, and TV control. I went on many trips with her. She guided my growing spirit into the woman I am today. She taught me to love who I am and never look for someone else to fill that void. She helped me walk the path of healing when my “first love” relationship came to an end. She loved me like I was her own. Life has a way of continuing on with memories of people suspended in time as if you could go back and pick right up where you left off if you returned to the place you last saw them. Time marches on and the reality of lost connection crashes down on you vividly on a Tuesday evening. The news of her passing is heavy on my heart but I am thankful I have had the chance to know her. I pray that peace and the fondness of her memories brings comfort to her family in the light of her passing.
