Graveside Ceremony: 3 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023, at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora

Mary Phyllis McGrew, age 85, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away Thursday morning, July 13, 2023, in Springfield, at the home of her daughter.
Phyllis was born December 23, 1937, in Clay County, the daughter of H.E. and Lyndall (Armes) McGrew.
She is survived by her children: Connie Brown (Denver) and John Brown; 3 grandchildren: Kimberly (Jeff) Ayers, Amity Frey, and Kayla Hodgson; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers: Ronnie (Barb) McGrew, Charles (Debra) McGrew, Danny (Kit) McGrew, and Dannie Wyatt; and 2 sisters: Barbara (Ron) Prather, and Carla (Stan) Stanford.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents: Ed McGrew, Dorothy McGrew, and Lyndall Wyatt; husband; an infant brother: Rickey Dean McGrew; and a granddaughter: Amanda Brown.
A graveside ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2023, at Elmwood Cemetery with Pastor Marty Ellison officiating. Those attending are asked to arrive directly at the cemetery. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Cancer Crusaders, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
