Funeral Ceremony: 11 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora
Interment: Bible Grove Cemetery
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home
Claire Elizabeth Fopay, age 33, of Champaign, and formerly of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday night, July 15, 2023, at Swann Special Care Center.
She was born April 26, 1990, in Flora, the daughter of Jon and Libbie (Henson) Fopay.
Claire Elizabeth was a bright light to all who knew her. Her cheerful, radiant personality was contagious, and had an impact on many people. She loved singing and playing her guitar to any song on Country Music Television. Claire could recite every word of her favorite movie “The Wizard of Oz” as well as any episode of Barney.
Her ability to capture your heart was immeasurable, to the point of grown men wearing silly hats that she has chosen for them along with earmuffs and gloves, in the middle of summer. Though her life was short God had a very special purpose for Claire. She is finally free from all Earthly restraints, and her spirit is with the Lord. She will be missed dearly by her father, mother, sisters, and extended family. Claire touched so many with her love and precious spirit and we will never be the same.
She is survived by her mother: Libbie (Jeff) Oakes of Fall River, Kansas; father: Jon (Monica) Fopay of Effingham; 3 sisters: Noelle Fopay of Flora, Kate Fopay of Flora, and Alison Rudy (Tyler West) of Xenia; maternal grandparents: Phil and Jane Henson of Flora; paternal grandmother: Janet Fopay of Flora; and nieces and nephews: Liam, Dylan, Sedona, Lillian, Ellie, Wren, and Wyatt.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather: Joe Fopay; and an aunt: Joey Henson.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Bible Grove Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Swann Special Care Center, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.
