Jerry Lee Huser, age 86, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023.
He was born June 6, 1937, in Rockport, Indiana, the son of Orval and Beatrice (Hedricks) Huser. He was united in marriage to Cindy Lee Wilson on April 20, 1979, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, and together they have shared 44 wedding anniversaries.
Jerry actively served in the Army from 1960-1962. He retired from being a manager for K-Mart Automotive/Penske Automotive in 2002. His passion was woodworking, and he could always be found creating beautiful toys and items for loved ones. He also enjoyed restoring old cars, cooking, baking, gardening, and working on his flowers. Jerry loved his family and will be remembered for his devotion to them.
He is survived by his wife: Cindy Huser of Flora; children: Jeffrey (DeNisa) Huser of Raleigh, N.C., Melissa (Anthony) Oesch of Flora, and Kyle (Rachel) Huser of Mayfield, KY; grandchildren: Cameron (Chris) Spurgeon of Clayton, N.C., Emery, Caroline, and Cyrus Oesch all of Flora, and Finn Huser of Mayfield, KY; 2 sisters: Gail Carey and Debbie Partida; a brother: Mike Huser; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers: Charles, Paul, Leslie, and Roger Huser; and 2 sisters: Nila Bryant and Vera Vansickle.
A memorial ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Military funeral honors will be presented following the ceremony. A visitation will be held from 3-4 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Aunt Cindy, Melissa & Kyle, I am so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I fondly remember seeing him at his workshop when we would visit during the summers in North Carolina. Zelda and Simone still love to play with the rocking chair he made for them and I expect they will both want to pass it on to their own children some day.
