Bryson Allan Walker, age 13, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2023.
He was born June 7, 2010, in Effingham, the son of Dustin A. Walker and the late Deborah A. (Potter) Walker. Bryson was a younger brother to Bayley Allana Walker, who was born in 2003. Both Bryson and Bayley passed away together, leaving their family heartbroken, but with loving comfort for the reunion in heaven with their mother and Christ.
Bryson was a student at Floyd Henson Junior High School in Flora. He loved chocolate milk, McDonald’s chicken nuggets, and cheese rollups from Taco Bell. He enjoyed swimming, dancing, mixing songs together on the computer, surfing YouTube channels, and playing Nintendo Switch. He especially enjoyed games like Angry Birds and Minecraft. Bryson attended Xenia Methodist Church.
He is survived by his father: Dustin Walker of Flora; stepfather: Alan Gertsch of Dundas; numerous step-siblings; paternal grandparents: Carole and Mike Helm of Flora; maternal grandparents: Kristine and Rick French of Kinmundy; maternal step-grandmother: Anne Potter of Red Rock, Oklahoma; paternal step-grandmother: Zoe Walker of Flora; great-grandmother: Janie Beguin of Ponca City, Oklahoma; great-grandfather: Don French of Ponca City, Oklahoma; aunts: Christy, Nikki, Kelly, Mandy, and Jennifer; uncles: Travis, Ricky, Brandon, Josh, Jeffrey, and Bryan; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Debbie Gertsch; maternal grandfather: James Potter; paternal grandfather: Ralph Walker; maternal great-grandfather: Jerrold Beguin; maternal great-grandmother: Lawanda French; maternal great-grandparents: Audrey and Herman Kukuk; paternal great-grandparents: Robert and Maxine Connerley and Riley and Donna Walker.
A funeral ceremony for Bryson and Bayley will begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023, at New Beginnings Church in Flora. A visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday evening at the church. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.
