Nicholas Lee Ashley, age 49, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024.
He was born October 12, 1974, in Flora, the son of Gregory E. and Catherine E. (Everman) Ashley. He was united in marriage to Miranda M. Worthey on November 13, 2004, at the First Church of God in Flora, and together they have shared 19 wedding anniversaries.
Nick will be remembered for his dedication and strong work ethic and how he treated his work crew like family. He enjoyed games like pool and cornhole and time spent reading and researching. Fond memories were made during trips to Florida and deep-sea fishing expeditions for tuna and redfin. Nick had a passion for collecting various items and buying things on online auctions, especially silver and jewelry. He also found satisfaction in repairing jewelry.
He is survived by his wife: Miranda Ashley of Xenia; mother: Cathy Dickerson of Flora; father: Greg Ashley of Xenia; children: Zane Worthey of Xenia, Olivia Kemp of Florida, Taylor Ashley (Andy Parish) of Clay City, Eli Ashley of Xenia, and Promise and Dakota Webb of Fairfield; a granddaughter: Isabelle Lee Parish; sister: Crystal Ashley (Troy Harrison) of Cleveland, Mississippi; sister-in-law: Lois (Colter) Liston; brother-in-law: John (Nikki) Worthey; nieces and nephews: Cyler Pride of Flora, Nicholas Harrison of Flora, Miranda Harrison of Flora, Kori Harrison (Misaac Scherer) of Flora, and Shayley Ashley (J.P. Parker) of Fairfield; mother-in-law: Candy Payne (Alan Wyatt); father-in-law: John (Lori) Worthey; aunts and uncles: Tricia Millikan, Donna Everman, Annette Faucett, Jeff Smith, Tina and Ronnie Abbott, Donna Everman, Jeff Smith, Judy and George Knackmus, Anita Lynch, Tina Gumbel, Bev Guinn, Connie and Gimo Zerrusen, Ginny Ashley, Robin and Carl Wattles, and Julie and Sparky Hurd.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather: Jim Dickerson; maternal grandparents: James and Bonnie Everman; paternal grandparents: Bob and June Ashley; uncles: John Faucett, Nelson Millikan, Bob Everman, Richard Everman, Roy Dickerson, and Roger Ashley; and aunts: Becky Everman and Mimi Smith.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Memorial donations are suggested to the family for the benefit of his granddaughter, and these will be accepted through the funeral home. I have fond memories of Nick. He was my cook at the Ranch Steak House, together we served the police force lunch of Flora and Louisville, 2 years in a row. We had alot of fun, and he will always be Nickey to me. He went to soon. Fly with the ANGELS Nickey, you'll be missed
I am sad to here of Nicks passing I've known him since he was 6 years old we hunted and fished a lot, him and his sister used to spend a lot of weekends at my house if I can do anything for the family don't hesitate to ask I will help on any way I can
