Celebration of Life gathering: 3 until 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home
Kalvin Lee Clark, age 56, of Patoka, Illinois, and formerly of Flora, passed away Saturday morning, January 20, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born August 31, 1967, in Flora, to Oris Clark and Janice (Workman) Clark. Kalvin married Julie Collier and they later divorced.
Kalvin conveyed his compassionate spirit through his past role as a Direct Support Professional at Kaskaskia Workshop where he worked with individuals with developmental disabilities. He really liked being outdoors and tending to his yard, but also especially taking hikes, gathering with friends and family around a bonfire, outings on the Pontoon, and camping.
At home, Kalvin was a caring dog dad to his beloved Yorkie, “Bear,” and he strongly appreciated cleanliness, which was apparent in his well-organized living space. He enjoyed listening to music and was always eager to watch really scary movies. He was a graduate of Flora High School, class of 1987, and a former member of the Centralia Moose. He kept the Christian faith as a cornerstone of his life.
Above all, Kalvin's world revolved around his daughters. His lasting message to them was etched in the opening line of his Facebook profile: “I live life for my two beautiful daughters I love so very much!!” This heartfelt affection will forever be cherished by his girls, who will always embrace the good memories they have shared with their dad.
Kalvin is survived by his daughters, Madeline Clark (fiancé David Ellsworth) and Meredith Clark of Patoka; his mother, Janice Clark of Flora; his sister: Chris (Karl) Stidham of Clay City; a niece and nephew; and special friends including Chuck Kenley and his boys. He was preceded in passing by his father; and his grandparents, Raymond and Lorine Workman.
A Celebration of Life gathering for Kalvin will take place from 3 until 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2023, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Memorial donations are suggested to assist with expenses, and these will be accepted through the funeral home. To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
