My Uncle Larry was an awesome man who taught me many life skills that I find invaluable to this day. Thanks to Larry’s kind yet stern way of instructing I actually learned from my mistakes. Not only was Larry a fantastic sidekick to my Uncle Dave and my Father as the super team of men who taught me how to be a man. But he also produced Smart (The one time I’ll admit it Clint) and Wonderful sons as well as beautiful and intelligent daughters, all of whom adore him. Through Larry’s Ups and Downs, life was not going to change who Larry Pilman was. He had set his definition. And if he wanted to change or add to it. Then you better call Websters and tell them to get their pen out. Because he decided when that happened. (Except for a few times Aunt Eve may have been involved, she had her ways) I hope you’re up there right now at the pearly gates, jawing St Peters ear off about how you’ve been to St Petersburg and all about the things he learned there. He will still be there when we all get to the gates ourselves. Waving us and welcoming us with a hug, while standing there Joking, jawing. Ribbing and taking the clipboard and pencil, doing the job for Peter as he stands and stares at Larry. Helpless to stop him from talking everyone who entered his ranges ears off. Though I’m sure Peter Tries to interject on occasion just because this next one in line looks like it’s going to be a fun get to know you session, and he’s been letting Larry have all the fun. The line to heaven has been backed up to about a 24 hour wait and growing since your dad made it to St Pete. But every person that goes through the gates when Larry and Petey (As your dad calls him) are there. Entering heaven laughing and happier than any man, woman, cat (yes. Even cats) Or dog ever has. The world lost a prize in Larry Pilman. A flawed but beautiful gem like the rest of us. But I have no doubt that Larry will be looking down and watching over all of us for the rest of eternity. Rest In Peace Larry Pilman. You were a good man. You helped raise good men and good women. Some of them not even your own. Rest easy uncle. We will all be there to stand with you soon enough. But if you are up there watching…..not too soon….ok? I love you Uncle. Rest In Peace Larry Pilman.
Dad, you will always be in my heart. I love you.
