Celebration of Life: 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora

Georgianna Feagans, age 92, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Thursday morning, January 25, 2024, at Clay County Hospital.
She was born January 28, 1931, in Oaktown, Indiana, the daughter of Dewey George and Ruby Mabel (Akers) Porter.
Georgianna was a 1949 graduate of Vincennes High School and went on to attend Deaconess Nursing School in Indiana. Upon completion of nursing school, she worked as a registered nurse at several places, including Deaconess Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, and in Texas. She later worked at a dental practice before working as an administrator in the 60’s for Flora Nursing Center, retiring after 25 years. After retirement she continued to stay busy working at Clay County Industries. Georgianna enjoyed collecting antiques and took pride in keeping a beautiful and immaculate home.
She is survived by her granddaughter: Nichole (Tommy) Shock; great-grandchildren: Allison (Cameron) Eckleberry, Mason Perry, Quinn Shock, Jack Perry, and Jaelynn Shock; 2 great-great-granddaughters: Aylah and Ariyah Eckleberry; a nephew: Gary Wayne Pinkston; special friends: Trudy Lambird and Diane Hemphill; and her best friend and companion, her dog Betsy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Jay George Feagans; daughter: Peggy Suzanne Vandeveer; brother: John K. Porter; and a sister: Dorothy Jane Wilkes.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Fur a Good Paws, and these will be accepted through the funeral home. I knew then that she was a Beautiful Soul with the Most Beautiful Blue eyes I had EVER seen 💙 So very sorry for All that Loved her and for her family's loss. Sorry to hear of this sweet lady passing. I worked at the nursing home while she was the administrator. I always liked her for her friendliness and her professionalism. Rest in Peace. My condolences to her family.

I had the pleasure to work with Georgianna and she was the consummate professional. She was so good to her patients and showed a great deal of empathy toward everyone. I know she will be missed. God bless her family.
