Margaret Linnea Young, age 89, of Xenia, Illinois, and formerly of Brooksville, Florida, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, January 20, 2024, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield with her daughter by her side.

      She was born September 17, 1934, in Berrien Springs, Michigan, the daughter of Rolla and Signe Huffaker.

      Margaret worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and hospice nurse in Florida, along with embracing the role of homemaker and devoted mother.  She enjoyed gardening, taking scooter rides with her favorite companion Raggy, and had an appreciation for beautiful things.  Florida was home to Margaret for many years and she greatly loved the friends she met there, many who along the way had become like family.  She had been a dedicated member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brooksville, Florida where she was a wonderful pianist and enjoyed telling the “children’s stories.”

      She is survived by her daughter: Michelle (Mike) Sabin, two grandchildren: Kailee (Dustin) Charles, and Robert Lloyd (Ashley) Lindgren; and seven great-grandchildren.

      She was preceded in death by her parents and her five siblings.

      A memorial ceremony will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 2 p.m. at the Noble Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1141 US-50 in Noble, IL.  Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Memorial donations are suggested to support the “Activities Department” at the Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation in Effingham, IL and these will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
