Jeremy Ryan Buchanan, age 45, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Jeremy was born February 28, 1979, in Olney, Illinois, the son of LaDonna Jean Goodman, of Louisville, Illinois and the late Roger William Buchanan.
Jeremy was a graduate of North Clay High School. Jeremy was often seen behind the bar at the Flora Eagles Lodge, VFW, and the American Legion in Flora. Jeremy was an active member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 14. He was active in the Flora American Legion Riders, joining his fellow members in coming together to show support for those who served our country past and present. Besides bartending, his working days included driving a truck over the road for Ed Lewis Trucking. He later worked for Brimberry Trucking and Rod Franklin Oil hauling asphalt, water, and millings for road projects. Jeremy’s free time was about his love of riding motorcycles, fishing, attending demolition derbies, rodeos, and relaxing by the fire with a drink in hand, cherishing the moments spent with his family and friends. Jeremy was big into all music genres. He loved singing and playing the drums. Jeremy was a big Chicago Bears fan. Jeremy was an upbeat, cheerful, and just a happy-go-lucky person with a smile that was contagious. He never knew a stranger and always enjoyed helping others. Jeremy will always be remembered as a great friend to many, including his canine, “Kilo” and his two pet squirrels “Elvis” & “Sippy”. Jeremy’s dedication to the simple things – family, friends, and the pursuit of happiness forever remains in the memories of those he left behind.
Jeremy is survived by the love of his life: Robin Dulaney of Louisville; his mother: LaDonna Jean Goodman of Louisville; his children: Liberty Buchanan of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, and Larkin Buchanan and Cheyenne Nosek both of Louisville; grandson: Maverick Brothers of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; siblings: Gena (David) Eade of Flora, Joni Green of St. Charles, Missouri, Larry (Michelle) Meares of Salina, Kansas, Dakoda James of St. Louis, Missouri, and Nathan Buchanan of Louisville; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jeremy was preceded in death by his father: Roger Buchanan; paternal grandparents: Vernon and Shirley Brown; and maternal grandparents: Robert and Imogene Goodman.
Jeremy’s life will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Burial will follow in Orchard Hill Cemetery, Louisville. Casket bearers will be Rich "Rafiki" Hooper, Erich Pearson, Travis Daugherty, Jordan Mette, Cole Galloway, and Matt Weidner. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
