Norma Kitley Smith, age 85, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday evening, March 16, 2024, at Flora Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

      She was born September 6, 1938, in Flora, the daughter of Roy H. and Pansy L. (Davis) Kitley.  She was united in marriage to Donald Ray Smith on September 6, 1958, in Flora, and together they shared 49 wedding anniversaries until his passing on October 23, 2007.

      Norma attended beauty school and worked as a beautician alongside her sister-in-law for a time in Tilton.  She enjoyed listening to country music.  Norma held a deep, quiet Christian belief, and throughout her life maintained her spiritual home at Harmony United Methodist Church. 

      She is survived by her siblings: Bill Kitley of Flora, Marilyn Lewis of Flora, and Mike (Kathy) Kitley of Flora; and a number of nieces and nephews.

      She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister-in-law: Kay Kitley; and a brother-in-law: David Lewis.

      A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora with Pastor Marty Ellison officiating.  Interment will follow in Kneff Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday evening and from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to Harmony United Methodist Church, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
