Jacob “Jake” Everette Ray, age 46, of Flora, Illinois, passed away June 17, 2024, at his home.
He was born June 22, 1977, in Flora, the son of Donald Ray and Carolyn Sue (Allen) Ray.
Jake worked at Silgan Plastics in Flora in Maintenance. He enjoyed time spent fishing, riding ATVs, camping, and playing video games, and was skilled at working on small engines.
He is survived by his children: Raven Ray (Cody Mueller) of Clay City and Brody Ray of Clay City; stepchildren: Kaleb Carlyle and Josh McCracken; a grandchild: Eden Bushnell of DeRidder, Louisiana; brother: Gene Ray of Flora; a niece: Brittany Boose; and 3 nephews: Dakota, Brandon, and Dillon Ray.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

My heart breaks seeing this. I hadn't seen Jake in years but I remember as a kid him always picking on me and making me laugh. He was kinda like another uncle to me or a big brother. He will be truly missed.
