Matthew W. Huffman, age 54, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at his home.

      He was born November 26, 1969, the son of Mark and Nancy (Roberts) Johnson.

      Matt served in the U.S. Army.  He had worked as a carpenter and a mechanic.  He enjoyed attending dirt track races and working on cars with his sons.

      He is survived by his 2 sons, Steven Huffman and Logan Huffman, both of Flora; 1 grandson, Bobby Huffman of Flora; 2 sisters, Ashley Peterson of Flora and Cindy Yates of Longview, Texas; and a brother, Bart Beatty of Flora.

      He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Harold Peterson.

      A funeral ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, August 19, 2024, at Frank and Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with the presentation of military honors.   A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with final expenses, and these will be accepted though the funeral home.  To share a condolence or a memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
