I’m so sorry to hear this. Mr Slagley was always so kind to me in the hallways, even though I never took his classes. My Father worked with him for years and always had such kind words to say. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers in this difficult time.
I was an FFA member at North Clay in the 80s & an FFA Alumni member/ chapter president in the2000s. I can still hear Mr. Slagley's conversation & encouragement of not only his students but those from North Clay. It is never easy to lose someone we love. But they are never completely lost, for their affect on our lives live on. Even when the people who knew him pass themselves, the legacy of his years as a teacher and father will continue. Praying for comfort and reliance upon our Lord.

Just heard the news. I live in Austin. Was speaking with my sister, Linda Martin, and she gave me the sad news about Doug. He was my catcher in Little League with Jake’s Auto Tire. Doug was 2 years older than I but always treated me like an equal in age. Great guy and always an uplifter to everyone he encountered. Sorry for the loss! That disease is a terrible one for all involved. RIP Doug! ❤️
