Garland Earl Gill, age 94, of Flora, passed away on September 4, 2024, at his home.
Earl was born on November 12, 1929, in Clay City, Illinois, to Delbert and Bessie (Rodgers) Gill. He was a graduate of Flora High School and married Barbara Ann Perrine in 1951.
Together, Earl and Barbara had two daughters, Terri Lynn and Patricia Leigh, and raised three of their grandchildren, Gregory Heath, Leslie Ann, and Spenser Ryne.
Earl served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the oil fields and then became a farmer with his father and brother, retiring in 1995. He loved to fish and garden, and in his later years, has most enjoyed visiting with his great-grandchildren.
Earl is survived by his daughters- Terri and Patricia; 6 grandchildren- Christopher, Greg, Leslie, Spenser, Jordan, and Magen; 4 great-grandchildren- Rayce, Rhett, Rylee, and Rowan; and 2 brothers- Galen and Henry.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Barbara (Perrine) Gill; his parents, Delbert and Bessie Gill; and brother and sisters: Aline, Bernita, Caroline, and Roland Gill.
There will be no services. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Memorials may be made to Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital of St. Louis, and these will be accepted through the funeral home. To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
So sorry for your loss. Earl was a great guy and so glad him and Barbara were such good friends to mom & Edd. Our prayers are with you all.

Earl will be terribly missed by his family and friends. He was a good man and Grandpa!

Earl was a good honest, hard-working man, an army veteran, they have been through more trouble than most people know. Rest in peace, Earl you deserve it.
