Warren W. Webster, age 80, of Flora, IL passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Warren was born July 21, 1933 in Fort Wayne, IN to Denzil and Maude (Garsh) Webster. He married Carolyn Jean Colgan on June 4, 1960 in Defiance, OH. Warren was involved in the oil business beginning with his father in the 1960’s. He later worked at Headlee’s Body Shop. Warren was recruited and served as manager of the Flora Municipal Airport for 11 years where he made many improvements. He was a Mason and a U.S. Navy veteran having worked on submarines. Warren had knowledge in many different areas, excelled in woodworking and craftsmanship, and spent many hours rebuilding his airplane.
He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Webster of Flora; 3 daughters: Beckie Webster (Curt Rice) of San Diego, CA, Karen Smith (boyfriend Mike Pickel) of Clay City, Cheryl Webster (Roger Gerdak) of Jacksonville, FL; 2 sisters: Jean Wittwer and Louise Winn both of Fort Wayne, IN; 5 grandchildren: April Utley (Matt) of Flora, Angela Smith (Justin Lowther) of Carterville, Amanda Smith of Flora, Nicholas Gerdak and Alex Gerdak both of Jacksonville, FL; and 2 great-grandchildren: Maddox and Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brother-in-laws.
The funeral service for Warren Webster will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2013 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora, with military honors. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
WISHING I COULD BE THERE WITH YOU. HAVE MANY FUN MEMORIES OF WARREN. SUCH A TALENTED AND FUN GUY. I WILL MISS HIM. PLEASE KNOW THAT I AM THINKING OF ALL OF YOU ESPECIALLY MY JEANNIE.
