Celebration of Life: 2 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Dillman Cemetery

Rita Ann Weidner, age 76, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday evening, September 22, 2024, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born January 27, 1948, in Flora, the daughter of George and Bernette (Phillips) Weidner.
Rita will be remembered for her strong sense of independence throughout her life. She had a passion for spending long hours tending to her yard and flowers, and she cherished her pet companions, who held a special place in her heart. Rita enjoyed exploring the latest offerings of QVC and HSN, and had a great love for clothing, shoes, and jewelry. Her last few years were spent at Heritage Woods and she will be missed by many there.
She is survived by a brother, Neil (Robin) Weidner of Louisville; and a sister, Cathi (Rick) Bailey of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Nelson Weidner; and a sister, Marsha Blair.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Dillman Cemetery. Those attending are asked to arrive directly at the cemetery and are invited to dress casually. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Memorial donations are suggested to assist with final expenses, and these will be accepted through the funeral home. Oh Rita…. How I miss you! You were such a bright light and everyone loved you. Thank you for helping me after my mom passed. You helped me through a lot. I will always love you and miss you.

This Wonderful, Fun, Loving Lady made an impact on my life at a very young age. From our Lost 40's cruisen spooky trips to All our Loving talks she was like an older Sister but so COOL!! Cathi, Aunt Jill, Rita and I spent alot of time road tripping those year's ago. She Loved her jewelry and clothes(which she always looked GREAT) as much as I do. She was one of the First Ladies that I was privileged to LOVE DEARLY!! CLASS ACT!!! I WILL always cherish her with Love as I know she did me as well❤️ My heaheartfelt condolences To Cathi & Neil your Family's Farm will forever be a LOVED Home in my heart & life. May all the family find Peace, Comfort and Prayers during your very difficult day's ahead 🙏 RIP BEAUTIFUL FREE LOVING SOUL!!! Although we haven't been around Rita for awhile she was there for Mom during her last years. We had many enjoyable stories. I'm so sorry for your family's loss.

I am so saddened by this news. Rita was my chemo buddy. She sure could make me laugh on some pretty awful days. I find some comfort knowing she is know lol beer in pain. I will miss our chats & texts. I sure hope there is QVC is heaven. lol! ❤️

Neil and Cathi, I am so sorry! I went to high school with Rita and I got to know her again at Heritage Woods. She was always so nice to me! Then and now. Rest in peace.
Rita was such a kind and lovely person. I visited her often while in the hospital and we would talk about our international travels and our fondness of Greece. I hope to visit soon in her honor. Rest in peace Ms. Rita
