Norma A. Bonham, age 94, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024, at her home.
She was born March 2, 1930, in Xenia, the daughter of Ivan Austen and Mary Ethel (Krantz) Wildbur. She was united in marriage to Harley Paul Bonham on November 26, 1948, in Louisville, and together they shared 69 wedding anniversaries until his passing on November 8, 2018.
Norma was a devoted member of the Shiloh Church of Christ in Louisville. She was well-known for her delicious homemade noodles, and over the years, she had the privilege of feeding many ministers. She enjoyed camping, attending bluegrass festivals, gardening, canning, and playing cards with her grandchildren. Norma was a homemaker and sewing and crocheting were favorite pastimes. Over the years she had lovingly made blankets and items for every one of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Jesse (Lynette) Bonham of Xenia, Roger (Cindy) Bonham of Xenia, and Aleta (Jim) Tackitt of Flora; 8 grandchildren: Emily (Ruben) Boyajian of Effingham, Jessica (Brandon) Lewis of Cisne, Jed Bonham (Heather Angle) of Flora, Christina (Michael) Tangman of St. Peters, Missouri, Kindal (Aaron) Eastin of Olney, Brian (Mindy) Tackitt of Flora, Angela Tackitt of Terre Haute, Indiana, and Brent (Stephanie) Tackitt of St. Charles, Missouri; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; siblings: Lois Wells of Louisville, Ailene Anderson of Xenia, and Paul (Rosalie) Wildbur of Louisville; an aunt: Phyllis Boomgarden of East Peoria; sisters-in-law: Shirley Wildbur of Effingham and Vivian Wildbur of Mason; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: Harold Wildbur, Charles Wildbur, and Larry Wildbur; sister-in-law: Barbara Wildbur; and brothers-in-law: Gaylon Wells and Don Anderson.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Oskaloosa Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 12 noon on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Hospice, and these will be accepted through the funeral home. Norma was a kind and friendly lady. She and Harley had a long life together and they both will be missed. Our sympathy to their family in this difficult time.
She was such a sweetheart. I enjoyed the Thanksgiving dinners at Jessica's that we got spent together. She always had the sweetest smile and was so kind.

Sorry to hear the loss of your mother. I remember when my father, John Craig would preach at Shiloh and we spent the afternoon with Norma and Harley in their home.
