Alice E. Sipus, age 88, of Casey, IL passed away Monday, November 11, 2013 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, IL.

   Alice was born September 8, 1925 in Ingraham, IL to Charles and Eva (Welch) Benefield.  She married George Sipus in Las Vegas, NV and he preceded her in death.  Alice was a wonderful mother and a hard worker and played guitar and sang. She worked as a dietician and was of the Baptist faith.

   She is survived by 5 children: Joy Streeter of Olney, Charlotte Lehr (Bill) of Iola, Donnie Cornwell (Melodie) of Greenup, Cheryl Staples of Martinsville, and Greg Cornwell of Greenup; a sister, Pearl Young of Flora; and 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers (Lyle, Lowell, Louden, and Bob Benefield), a sister (Bernice Pruitt), and a great-great-grandson (Ashron Golden).

   The funeral service for Alice Sipus will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, November 15, 2013 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora.  Interment will follow in Ingraham Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1-2 p.m. at Frank & Bright Funeral Home.
