David Earl Denning, age 68, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, at HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
He was born October 11, 1956, in Flora, the son of Nina Dorene Denning.
David had previously worked at Sparton Manufacturing and Big John’s grocery store in Flora. He had most recently worked as a Community Rehabilitation Program coordinator though the Opportunities for Access initiative to empower people with disabilities to participate in community life. He enjoyed collecting coins and other antiques, including pig-themed collectibles, milk bottles, marbles, and clocks.
He is survived by his significant other and companion of 20 years: Nicole Ingram of Flora; 2 daughters: Elizabeth Pruitt and Emily Denning of Flora; 8 grandchildren: Kaitlyn Pruitt of Olney, Mollie Pruitt of Flora, Emma Pruitt of Texas, Brody Pruitt of Flora, Genevieve Pruitt of Flora, Ally Denning-Garcia of Flora, Brady Denning of Flora, and Joey Denning of Flora; 2 great-grandchildren: Caroline and Lucas Martin of Flora; sister: Kathy Brooks of Ingraham; and 2 nephews: Jesse (Hollie) Brooks of Flora and Christopher Brooks of Ingraham.
He is preceded in death by his mother and brother-in-law: Ray Brooks.
There will be no formal services. Arrangements are by Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Memorial donations are suggested to the family to assist with final expenses, and these will be accepted though the funeral home. To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com

David was a classmate of mine. I have sweet memories of walking together and talking after school. He was always kind to me. Though we haven’t seen each other in several years, he will always be missed.
I went to school with David Denning and have fond memories of him as a fellow classmate in Flora. Sending thoughts and prayers to his family at this difficult time.
