Graveside service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013, at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora
There is no visitation.
Opal Williams Reeves, age 86, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon.
Opal was born January 9, 1927 in Flora, the daughter of Charles Ruben and Ora (Rockhold) Pruitt. She married Jackson “Jack” Williams, and he preceded her in death in 1979. Opal was a lifelong Flora resident, and retired from working at the International Shoe Company. She was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by 3 sons: Jack Williams of Boyd, Texas, Dan Williams of Humble, Texas, and Brett Williams of Flora; a brother: Charles Robert Pruitt of Melbourne, Florida; a nephew: Sherrill Dean Pruitt of Flora; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister: Dorothy.
A graveside service for Opal Williams Reeves will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora. There will be no visitation. Frank & Bright Funeral Home is caring for the family.
I remember Opal through the growing up years with Dan but most recently when she attended the Assembly of God Church. No matter where I saw her, she had a smile for me and uplifted me. Praying for the family.

Jack, Dan, Brett, and families: I was in Flora this last week end, we left real early Sunday morning, I wish I would have known. God Bless, Sorry for your loss. Ya'll know you are in our prayers. I don't believe my family would have survived with out your Mom! My fondest memories were when she was at the baseball field rooting for you guys, when you all were playing.
So sorry for your loss. I will always remember her and your dad walking down to Reubans house for meals and then bringing him his meals. We all had some good times in the south end.

I am so very sorry for the lose of such a fabulous lady. it wasn't long ago that myself and Danielle moats set and listened to her tell us stories of our elders. my grandmother IVA MOATS, loved you dearly and i will never forget those perfect moments of listening to you tell me how the good ol days was. you are already missed...
