Visitation: 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Brown Christian Church, 9101 Brown Church Road, Kinmundy, IL.
11 a.m. until 12 noon: Opportunity for eulogies and a message by Brother Bruce Horsley of Xenia Community Church.
12 noon to 1 p.m.: a motorcycle escort will be conducted by Patriot Guard Riders to Parker Cemetery, 6412 Beard Road, Xenia, IL, for a brief graveside memory by Brother Horsley. Military honors will be accorded.
A reception will follow at 1 p.m. at Brown Christian Church.
Danny Warren, age 84, of Xenia, IL, passed away on March 1, 2025, at home.
Dan was born on August 9, 1940, to Curt and Ruth (Green) Warren of Xenia, IL. In 1958, he graduated from Flora High School. He then moved to California.
He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1960. He was proud to serve in squadron VMA-214, which was founded by Col. Greg “Pappy” Boyington, USMC. The squadron was known as “The Black Sheep.” Dan was a jet aircraft mechanic.
Following his military service he went to work for United Airlines in San Francisco, CA in 1964. He retired February 1,1997, as a Supervisor of Cargo and Ramp Service in Los Angeles, CA. He then returned to Illinois.
He later joined the Illinois Patriot Guard Riders. Their mission is to stand in respect at funerals of veterans and first responders who can no longer stand for us. He retired in 2024 as the Senior Ride Captain of Illinois Region 7. Dan was with this organization that aligned with his values of brotherhood and philanthropy. His advancement with this group was not just a reflection of his desire to connect with like-minded individuals, but his unwavering commitment to our veterans and first responders.
Dan’s life was one of making connections, whether through his work, or through his service to our country and its communities. He had a goal of making every person feel significant and heard. His legacy is one of love, laughter, and the simple pleasures of life.
Dan is survived by his significant other, Rose Fowler of Iuka, IL, two sons, Jeff of Lakeside, CA and Mark of Long Beach, CA, granddaughter Amanda of Chatsworth, CA, and three sisters - Barbara and husband Henry Gill of Flora, IL, Vicki and husband Bob Webb of Peoria, AZ, and Sue Miller of Missoula, MT.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Larry and Don, his paternal grandparents Stanley and Lida Warren, and his maternal grandmother Vada (Green) Gardner.
A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Brown Christian Church, 9101 Brown Church Road, Kinmundy, IL, followed from 11 a.m. until 12 noon by an opportunity for eulogies and a message by Brother Bruce Horsley of Xenia Community Church. From noon to 1 p.m., a motorcycle escort will be conducted by Patriot Guard Riders to Parker Cemetery, 6412 Beard Road, Xenia, IL, for a brief graveside memory by Brother Horsley. Military honors will be accorded. A reception will follow at 1 p.m. at Brown Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dan’s memory to Fur a Good Paws in Flora.

Go Rest High on That Mountain dear cousin. Dan loved that song and told me more than once what it meant to him. I am sure he entered heaven shouting his love for the Father and the Son just as he did in life. Love and miss you always.
Heaven gained a wonderful angel and I can only imagine the glorious reunion going on. Love and miss you always dear cousin.
