Lois Arline Fulk, age 77, of Flora, Illinois, passed away Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Clay County Hospital.
She was born August 17, 1947, at home in Clay City, the daughter of Harold Dean and Ida Frances (Sharp) Persinger. She was united in marriage to Tony H. Fulk on April 27, 1971, in Effingham, and have shared almost 54 wedding anniversaries together.
Lois was known for her great sense of humor and her deep love for animals. She found joy in baking, playing cards and Bingo, and spending time with her grandkids - especially during their memorable wheelchair races. Grateful and grounded in her faith, Lois cherished attending gospel concerts with her sister, Martha. A mother to all, she never turned away a stranger and welcomed everyone with open arms. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband: Tony Fulk of Flora; a son: Anthony (Brandy) Fulk of Flora; grandchildren: Jarica (Zachariah) Toutloff of Olney, Athena Fulk of Indiana, Dalton Fulk (Summer Depper) of Highland, Clayton Fulk (Summer Bequette) of Highland, Dakota McKinney of Flora, and Patience Fulk of Flora; 5 bonus grandsons: Evan True, Gunner Gard, Logan Gard, Ryker Phillips, and Zachariah Gard; great-grandchildren: Dustin, Caddie, Freya, Diezel, Rorik, Flinn, and Lane; brothers: Montie (Cheryl) Persinger of Flora, Danny (Brenda) Persinger of Flora, David Persinger of Flora, Rocky (Debbie) Persinger of Flora, Carl (Tina) Persinger of Flora, Dennis Persinger (Tammy) of Flora, Mark Persinger of Flora, and Rodney (Jessie) Persinger of Flora; sisters: Barbara Clark of Flora, Martha (Tim) Gann of Flora, and Glenda (Lee) Miller of Olney; brother-in-law: Frank (Dale) Fulk of Xenia; sisters-in-law: Dianne Miselbrook of Bible Grove, Lisa (Lenny) Thoele of Montrose, and Kathy Schoonover of Effingham; and her beloved dog, Bingo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; bonus son: Jonathon E. Frazier; brothers: Stanley Persinger, Jimmy Ray Persinger, and Junior Persinger; nieces: Michelle “Red” Powell, Ginger White, Ashley Persinger, and Amanda Pierce; a nephew: “Lil” Stan Persinger; father and mother-in-law: Pinkney and Sally Fulk; mother-in-law: Bertha Atteberry; brothers-in-law: Reggie Senters, Jack Fulk, Charles Clark, and Larry (Lorraine) Pierce; sisters-in-law: Tina Persinger, Mary (Tom) Holste, and Connie Levitt; and her dog, Paco.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening, April 21, 2025, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. A private family ceremony will be held with interment in Elmwood cemetery. Casket bearers will be Steven Powell, "Lil" Dave Persinger, "Lil" Danny Persinger, Justin Persinger, John Fulk, James Holste, Brad Marlow, and Doug Browning. Memorial donations are suggested to Clay County Cancer Crusaders or to the family to assist with final expenses, and these will be accepted through the funeral home. Well it’s not goodbye it’s I’ll see you later! Heaven has to be more Beautiful since God has taken you home. You will be Missed by many! Lois was a very sweet lady I met her at church she will be truly missed she could light up a room with her smile was a pleasure to have known her !!!!
