Carol D. Lagle, age 74, of Flora, IL passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Good Samaritan RHC in Mt. Vernon, IL.
Carol was born April 9, 1939 in Flora to Bernard “Turk” Lagle and Mary (Vail) Lagle. He married Nancy L. Martin on August 22, 1959 in Flora. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2013. Carol worked at Martin Printing for 38 years. His memberships included the Clay City Bass Club and the Flora Eagles where he served as Trustee, President and Secretary. Carol liked doing yard work and his love of fishing prompted his many entries in fishing tournaments.
He is survived by his children: Kim (Gary) Pennington of Flora, Mark Lagle of Flora, Chris (Amanda) Lagle of Flora, Eric Lagle of Bridgeport, and Kelly Lagle of St. Louis, MO; 7 grandchildren: Brian (Susan) Pennington of Flora, Tiffany (Ben) Castleberry of Flora, Jessica (Nick) Simpson of Evansville, IN, Elizabeth Lagle of Flora, James Sorenson of Flora, Kale Lagle of Flora, and Ashley (Justin) Landreth of Flora; 8 great-grandchildren: Paige, Sara, Carter, Lexi, Laila, Faith, Caden, and Allison; a brother: Jim (Loretta) Lagle of Flora; and an aunt: Betty Garrison of Flora. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
The funeral service for Carol Lagle will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Flora. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Clay County Cancer Crusaders and will be accepted at the funeral home. Mark~ We were so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I can only imagine how heartbroken you are at this time. Please know you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult loss.

So sorry to hear, Carol was a good man always had a joke or story for us when he came into the spa, he is with Nancy now may they have eternal peace together.

Sorry for your loss! I had so much fun fishing against Carol in the clay city bass club I will always remember him as a good friend!

Carol was a fun person, who loved life. Remember some good "Chowder" times at his home. Sure that he will be missed by many.

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I know it doesn't help, but he is in a better place and with your Mom and his Mom and Dad. Just know there is a large picnic going on in Heaven of the Vail's welcoming one of their own home. Some day you and I will get to go and join them.
