Minnie Louise Fry, age 82, of Flora, IL passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Flora Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Flora.
She was born July 23, 1931 in Hamilton County, IL to Clay and Pearlie (Jamerson) Stanley. She married Herschel Fry on December 2, 1948 in Morganfield, KY. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2006. Minnie worked 25 years at Richland Memorial Hospital starting out as a nurse’s aide, working in several departments, and had attended the Assembly of God church. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, cooking and baking homemade meals, taking care of dogs, and playing the harmonica. Her real joy in life was her grandchildren and in 2003 Minnie was chosen Clay County Greatest Grandma.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter: Shirley (Norman) Workman of Flora; 2 granddaughters: DeAnn (Dave) Hawkins of Flora and Cindy (Jimmy) Walker of Cisne; 7 great-grandchildren: Cole Hosselton of Flora, Cheyenne Hosselton (fiancée Brandon Edwards) of Flora, Hope Walker of Cisne, Haylee Walker of Cisne, Logan Hawkins of Flora, Harrison Walker of Cisne, and Hadley Walker of Cisne; sister-in-laws: Dorothy Smith of Olney, Thelma Fry of Wooster, OH, Gertrude Fry of Sorento, Sue (Frank) Winters of Caryville, TN; brother-in-law: Bill (Linda) Fry of Flora; and a godchild: Christy Simmons. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son.
The funeral service for Minnie Fry will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Clay City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to Clay County Cancer Crusaders or Fur A Good Paws and will be accepted at the funeral home. An online guest book is available at www.frankandbright.com.

De and Cindy your grandma was a special lady and you two are both so much like her. She was loved by many. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
So sorry for your families loss. She is now with your Daddy and has no pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
All of us out here are thinking of everyone out there. Our hearts and prayers are with you. Minnie and her many smiles are a part of our lives that will never be forgotten. She always had a big smile and a big hug for everyone.
She was very special lady enjoyed her so much always made me smile would make my day with her big hug she always gave me ! Will be missed R.I.P. Miss Minnie!
We often met Minnie during our pet visits to Flora Rehab & Health Care. She was always happy to see us and lovingly pet our dogs. We are sad on her passing away and offer our condolences to her family and friends. We too will miss seeing Minnie.

So sorry to hear about Minnie passing. She was a very kind and sweet lady. She loved her hugs. Our thoughts are with you during your hard times. Its hard losing your parents. They may not be with us now but will always be in our thoughts and a special place in our hearts. Sorry didn't make it to the service. Thinking of your family. Take care!
