Marjorie Louise (Oliver) McAllister, age 81, of Flora, IL passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora.
Marjorie was born May 20, 1932 in Louisville, IL to Samuel Clyde and Gaynell (White) Oliver. She married Donald L. “Bud” McAllister on April 12, 1952 in Louisville. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1986. Marjorie worked at Flora Manor for a total of 39 years retiring in 1997 as supervisor. She was a member of Bloom Baptist Church, enjoyed family, her pets, going to rummage sales, and most of all people.
She is survived by four sons: Gene McAllister (wife Jan) of Clay City, Tom McAllister (wife Chris) of Flora, Mike McAllister (wife Karen) of Flora, Tony McAllister (wife Cindy) of Louisville; two daughters: Debbie Curtis (husband Jerry) of Elk City, ID, Susan Spitz (husband Dave) of Flora; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 7 brothers (Elmer, Raymond, Bob, Scott, Charles, Bill, and Morris Oliver), a sister (Helen Kincaid), infant sister (Reba Oliver), and 1 great-grandchild (Jenessa Lee Krantz).
The funeral service for Marjorie McAllister will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Interment will be in Kneff Cemetery, Flora. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be given to Alzheimer’s Association and will be received at the funeral home.
