Ryan Bandy, age 35, of St. Louis, Missouri, formerly of Flora, Illinois passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at St. Alexius Hospital in St. Louis.
Ryan was born May 1, 1978 in Olney, Illinois to Carl W. and Brenda L. (Kittle) Bandy. He was a member of the F.H.S Class of ’96 and attended E.I.U. Ryan worked as an information systems analyst for Sylogistics, working in the BJC Health Center facilities. From an early age, Ryan was interested in computers and went on to make it a career. He had a special relationship with his nephew Rayce and was baptized in the Southern Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents: Carl and Brenda Bandy of Flora; sister: Kassi (Ben) Michels of Cisne; maternal grandmother: Mary Kittle of Flora; paternal grandmother: Norma Dean of Springfield; aunts and uncles: Connie (Gayle) Osborne of Newburgh, Indiana, Patty (Charlie) Peters of Cisne, Christine (Steve) Hosselton of Louisville, Gary (Sherrie) Kittle of Clay City, John (Janet) Bandy of Springfield, and Christine Norman of Springfield; along with many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather (Lawrence Kittle), paternal grandfathers (Guy Bandy and Wid Dean), and a cousin (Andrea Weiler).
The funeral service for Ryan Bandy will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will be in Floral Garden of Memories. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. The family has suggested that memorial donations be made to Fur A Good Paws, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Clay County Cancer Crusaders. I just want to say I am very sorry for your loss. I remember Ryan's smile when I was at Eastern...it was one that I will not forget. I pray for peace and comfort during this time.

I wanted to let Ryan's family know how sorry I am to learn of his passing. I first met Ryan when we were hired to work at an ophthalmologist office about 9 years ago. After I left I encouraged him to come to Clarkson Eye care and so he did. I wanted to let his family know that all of us at Clarkson who knew him are greatly saddened. He was my friend and an absolute joy to work with. He was one of the most humorous people I have ever met. If you were with Ryan you were going to laugh. This world is left a little less bright with his passing but heaven is a much happier place. The angels are smiling & laughing. I ask that you give this to Ryan's family so that they know how much I and all those of us at Clarkson Eyecare who knew Ryan loved and appreciated him. Ryan was a fantastic person in society. He was always willing to help anyone in need no matter how little he had. He was so friendly and out going. Ryan and I worked together at Clarkson Eyecare and have been very good friends since. He also was a DJ for the most important day of my life....my wedding. I will always remember Ryan for his contaigious smile and warm heart. I love and miss him dearly....may heaven be his eternal resting place with the good Lord.

I pray for all the family I know it's very hard my father died this past January. I have never been the same since but when my heart hurts for him I close my eyes and I remember his laugh. Then it hits me every time a voice tells me its not end you will see him again. May god be with you all.

So sorry for your loss. I don't think we ever met, but my husband was a first cousin to Wid Dean, Ryan's grandfather. My nephews wife, Stessy, who has known Ryan her whole life, posted the obituary and I realized the connection. It is a small world. Prayers going out for the family.

I just found out about Ryan's passing. I worked with Ryan at Clarkson Eyecare for a few years. He was always so happy, and would make my day, just working through an IT issue, he was so understanding and patient. He will be greatly missed. May you rest peacefully Ryan.
