Genevieve was born December 3, 1927 in Wayne County near Johnsonville to Francis A. and Versa (Miley) Hufhines.  She married George Dunaway on November 25, 1967.  He preceded her in death on January 20, 1996.  She later married Fred Wenzel on July 25, 1998 and he preceded her in death on February 24, 2014. (Chloette) Wenzel; 2 nieces: Kay (Randy) Miller of Johnsonville and Linda (Jim) Kirkpatrick of Kansas City, Missouri;  2 great-nieces: Dee Ann (Richard) Hoover and Jennifer (Collin) Swearingen; 3 great-nephews: Nicholas Gustafson, Ryan (Jamie) Gustafson, and Alex Gustafson; 3 great-great-nieces:  Katie Hoover, Madison Swearingen, and Corra Gustafson; 2 great-great-nephews: Nate Hoover and Spencer Swearingen; along with several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, a sister (Imogene Hufhines), an infant sister (Barbara June), and her brother-in-law (Oscar Dean).

The funeral service for Genevieve Wenzel will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Brush Creek Community of Christ, rural Xenia.  Interment will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the church.  Frank & Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  Memorials may be given to Brush Creek Community of Christ and will be accepted at the church or through the funeral home.  An online guest book is available at www.frankandbright.com.

Jeanette and Mabel, we were saddened to learn of Genevieve's passing. She was a beautiful person and was loved by those around her, both family and friends. At the present time, we are in Florida, having spent the winter here since January. So sorry we cannot attend Genevieve's services but will see you in April when we return home.

So sorry for your loss. Genevieve was a friend of my mother,Catherine, starting way back in the small town of Cisne where my mom was a hairdresser and did her hair! I remember stories of all the trips my parents made to Florida to visit Genevieve and George. They enjoyed their friendship throughout many years. My mom would take my brothers and I to visit the Huffines girls on Second Street when we were younger and we always got a treat. Great memories. My sympathy to Genevieve's family.

To the Hufhines Family: I am so sorry to be writing this over a month late but wanted to let you know that I remember going to church with Genevieve when I was a young girl at Brush Creek. My family belonged to Poplar Creek. I know that all of you will miss here very much but remember all the good times you had with her over the years as the memories are so precious. We know that she was called home to be with her Heavenly Father as she was a child of his for so many years and is still. May God bless each one of you in your time of sorrow and be there for each other. My Deepest Sympathy, Marilyn Shehorn Tarbutton
