Lora Ann Courson, age 52, of Flora, Illinois passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.
Lora was born on September 8, 1961 in Tuscola, Illinois. She loved all kinds of animals, especially her dogs Scrappy, Hoss and Baby, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandkids.
Lora is survived by her daughter: Brandi (husband Jason) Phillips of Flora; son: Niclous (wife Dena) Courson of Flora; step-mother: Linda Gould of Houston, TX; 3 grandchildren: Kameron Huey, Cody (wife Jenny) Gould, and Jada Phillips; 2 great-grandchildren: Aspen and Aria Gould; 2 sisters: Lana Gould (Alan Slagley) of Hord, Sue (husband Merl) Moulton of Louisville; brother: Billy Fender of Louisville; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents (Ronald Ray Gould and Susie Fulk Fender), 4 brothers (Jack Fulk, James Whitaker, Neil Gould, and Ronald Jay Gould), and step-father (Bill Fender).
Visitation for Lora Courson will be held on Monday, April 28, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. Memorial donations in Lora’s memory may be made to Clay County Animal Rescue and Shelter and will be received at the funeral home.
To the family of Lora Courson. Lora and I went to school together and she was truly a great person. I have fond memories of when we were in grade school. She will be greatly missed.
My dearest friend I hope you find the love and happiness in death that you never found in life. We shared many great times together and I will never forget you. Rest in peace, you have earned it girl. Brandi and Nick I am very sorry for your loss.

Very sorry to hear of the loss of a spontaneous woman my condolences are with the family.
I'm am so sorry for your loss. I went to school with Neil, but I met Lora when I worked with her at the Courthouse cafe in Louisville back in 1988. I also worked with Lora's mother Susie. Lora was a sweet person. She will be sadly missed. Thinking of her entire family.
Words can never say how grateful I was for your friendship and the friendship of your family when I first moved to this area. You showed me the best fishing hole I have ever fished in my whole life and gave me and my children wonderful memories that will last us a lifetime. God bless you and keep you til we meet again on the other side.
