Imo Lee McCraw, age 88, of Flora, Illinois passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Helia Healthcare in Olney, Illinois.
Imo Lee was born June 10, 1925 in Homer, Illinois to Hugh and Gladys (Jenkins) Bateman. She married Ray Dean McCraw on September 28, 1947 in Flora. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1974. During their teen years, Imo Lee and her twin sister Loma Lee moved to Evansville, Indiana and later to Montana. After her marriage and becoming a homemaker, she worked hard to raise her family. Imo Lee’s memberships included the VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and Flora Eagles and she enjoyed flowers and going to rummage sales.
Imo Lee is survived by her 2 sons: Tom (wife Sharon) McCraw of Flora and Raymond Lee (wife Sue) McCraw of Olney; 7 grandchildren: Sheri McCraw Baker (husband Tim), Steven McCraw (wife Leslie), Dawn McCraw Jones (husband Chris), Dion McCraw (wife Kim), Randy Speagle (wife Jane), Penny Denbo (husband Gary), Vicki Nauman (husband Greg); 19 great-granchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother: Hugh Arkell Bateman of Bridgeport; 2 sisters: Jean Porter of Olney, Mary (husband Frank) Wehrheim of Olney; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 4 sisters (Lucille Steele, Codell Bateman, Loma Yates, and Norma Burgess).
The funeral service for Imo Lee McCraw will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Dillman Cemetery, Sailor Springs. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
