Bill will be missed by many, among them Pat and myself. He was a good friend, a loyal veteran and someone that could be relied upon for help of any kind. We are proud to be part of his extended family. His cheery attitude lit the room and that wonderful voice of his commanded your attention. We are proud to say, "Bill was our friend" and we are happy to pray for him for the repose of his soul and to him to help us in our sadness.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Connie, Cody and Quinten, along with the rest of the family. Bill always had a smile that he shared with us, even through his phone calls, and we always enjoyed those visits. So thankful that they got together a few weeks back for breakfast. Cody, he was so proud of you and all your accomplishments. Come hunting anytime. We will miss him.

Bill was our neighbor. Bill was our friend. He was someone who was genuinely happy in our happiness. Bill treated our children with such kindness and caring. He took genuine interest in our children and truly delighted in their accomplishments as he did his own. Over the years at odd times each of our children would say, "he was so good to me." Bill took devilish delight in telling people that our daughter, Cynthia, was HIS (are you laughing, Bill?) Over the many years we lived next door, we developed a quiet comfort, respect, appreciation and genuine love and admiration for Connie and Bill. Bill accomplished the work God gave him and now that he is sharing eternity with God is so comforting. Yet...there is a hole in our hearts. Bill will always be in our hearts, but it will take some time for that hole to heal. I read, "Some people come into our lives and quietly stay. Others stay for a while, leaving footprints in our hearts and we are never the same.

Bill was a genuine good person with a smile that could light up the world - I didn't know him long, but he made me and my family feel like we were life long friends. There are few people that have that gift from God and he will be missed. I believe he is home and at peace; lighting up Heaven with his magical smile. All those who loved Bill and his wonderful family are in our thoughts and prayers. I cannot tell you how sorry we are for your loss. The Kelling Family

Connie, We are so sadden at your loss. We were so blessed to get to meet Bill and for all he has done to provide opportunities for our son to shoot with the Henges Trap Team. He was always a smiling face and he carried his physical cross with such joy. My wife loved visiting with him while the boys practiced. I know God will welcome him home with open arms. I hope you and the rest of your family can celebrate the great gift of his life to the world. All of our time here is short, what matters is how we use it. Bill was a great example of joy and selfless giving for others during his time. We will keep you and your family in our prayers and thank you for allowing Bill to give so much to the Henges Team Family. We were truely blessed to have known Bill.

To the man I simply knew as Bill from next door: While the hustle and bustle of adult life can make childhood memories seem so far away, you and your family will always hold a place in many of my fondest memories from that nice little spot on Deer Lodge Drive. I'll always remember the long summer nights playing Kick The Can in front of your house and that you never failed to provide the necessary equipment. I'll never forget the cabin at Lake Wappapello and the freshly cooked squirrel after the hunt. When that comes to mind, I'll surely remember those evenings at your side watching you scale those larger-than-life fish on the electrical box between our houses after a successful day on the river. Of course, that will then remind me of that old canoe hanging under your back deck. And I'll certainly never forget the Bar-B-Que grill which was a fixture on your driveway along with its skilled chef responsible for spreading its sweet smells throughout the neighborhood. But perhaps most of all, I'll never forget the welcoming smile or that distinctive voice which never failed to offer a kind word for each of us rat-pack bunch of kids running all over the neighborhood. Though it may be time to say goodbye, I want to thank you for all of those memories and for the kindness you always showed to my children as well. You left all those you touched with many wonderful memories which we're fortunate to carry until the day we meet again.

Bill had the most infectious laugh. I loved spending time with him at our Northwood compound. His smile and "southern gentlemanly ways" were so unique. A precious man. Our thoughts are with you Connie and Cody. And much love to the entire Cooke family.
