Rodney Ray Parish, Sr., age 66, of Flora, Illinois passed away Friday, May 23, 2014 at his home in Flora.
Rodney was born August 15, 1947 in Effingham, Illinois to Merle Eugene and Eileen (Pearce) Parish. He married Anita Kay Cantrell on November 18, 1988 in Marion, Kentucky. Rodney did auto body work and car sales. He was very knowledgeable about classic cars and loved working with old cars and going to car shows. He also enjoyed his animals around the property.
Rodney is survived by his wife: Anita Parish of Flora; 3 children: Rodney “J.R.” Parish Jr. (wife Emily) of Xenia, Sandra Morales (husband Perry) of Pleasanton, Texas, Cecil Eugene “Buster” Parish of Flora; 3 step-children: Diane Vest (husband Ralph) of Johnsonville, Sandy Baker (husband Mike) of Keenes, Daphne Urbanski (husband Frank) of Xenia; 9 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 8 step-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother (Gary Parish), and a sister (Diane Ewell).
The funeral service for Rodney Parish will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home with visitation from 11a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Powers Cemetery, Xenia. Memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with expenses. An online guest book is available at www.frankandbright.com.
