Pamela “Pam” J. Richey, age 69, of Louisville, Illinois, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014, at Flora Gardens Care Center in Flora.
Pam was born July 26, 1945, near Phoenix, Arizona. Her parents were Adam and Mary (Burt) Bemount. On June 1, 1963, she married her high school sweetheart, Jay D. Richey, in Flora. Pam lived and visited places throughout the world while Jay was serving in the Air Force, and later continued to experience new places as she continued her love of travel. She worked at First National Bank, Mercantile Bank, and Renaissance Travel, and enjoyed gathering with friends while participating in Garden Club, Japanese Club, and her Bunco Club. She was a member of Hord Congregational Christian Church. Pam was truly a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and a caring friend to the people she had met throughout her life.
She is survived by her husband: Jay D. Richey of Louisville; 2 sons: Donald (Terry) Richey of Weirton, WV, and Douglas Richey of Flora; a daughter: Darla (Matt) Worthey of Louisville; 5 grandchildren: Alexandria Richey of Alaska, Jacob Richey of Alabama, and Macy, Lily, and Ty Worthey of Louisville; a sister: Theresa (Russ) White of Goldsboro, NC; and several very special cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service for Pam Richey will be 2 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2014, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Flora. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations be made for the benefit of Clay County Hospice and will be accepted through the funeral home. Jay, Marvin and I are so sorry to hear of the news of Pam's passing. Pam and I shared many good times as baton twirlers with the FTHS band. May the shared strength of your friends help you through this difficult time.
Pam was such a sweet person. I worked with her at U.S. bank when it a as Mercantile bank and Firstar bank. She always treated me in such a kind way, as she did everyone. She had the bubbliest personality. I am so sorry for your loss. She will be missed and is now residing in heaven.

Pam was a loving and caring friend. We ment many years ago in Alaska. Her family has always been in our wonderful memories of them since then. Our prayers are with all.
Pam was my cousin/sister and we all (8 kids in our family) loved her dearly. She was another sister to us and we'll miss her very much. She had a special place in our hearts and we have so many fun memories about her and all of our aunts, uncles, and cousins from Flora. They were/are special people and know some of them are welcoming her to her heavenly home. Rest well our precious Pammy.

Pam & Jay were our neighbors for a few years on Natchez Trace. Pam was a very kind an always willing to help if a neighbor needed something. I am sure she will be missed by many people. Our sympathy to the family
