William D. “Billy” Shrum Jr., age 55, of Flora, Illinois passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at his home in Flora.
Billy was born May 1, 1959 in Flora to William E. and Agnes (Ruger) Shrum. He was a graduate of Flora High School Class of 1977 and attended Oak Street Baptist Church. Billy also loved animals.
He is survived by siblings: Joyce Meeres of Iuka, John Shrum (friend Chris Boyd) of Flora, Jeannie (Ron) Kincaid of Louisville, and James Allen Shrum of Charlotte, NC; aunt: Sara (William) Tooley; uncle: Bud (Johnalee) Ruger; cousin: Vickie Strange; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law: Veda.
A funeral service for Billy Shrum will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora, with visitation from 2 p.m. until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. A private burial in Elmwood Cemetery will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. I am going to miss your smiling face and sweet giggle each morning at the store Billy. You were such a sweetheart and I know that the angels in heaven are going to love you.

My deepest sympathies to the entire Shrum family. As a classmate my memories of Billy will be as a very shy classmate but he had a heart full of kindness towards all. The entire FHS Class of 1977 sends condolences as well, Billy will always be fondly remembered.
