Jonnie Lynn Atkisson, age 48, of Xenia, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at her home in Xenia.
Jonnie was born December 30, 1966 in Flora to Leo Dale Atkisson and Regina Ruth (Pride) Whitmer. She was a proud mother and a stay at home grandma who loved her family. Jonnie was called “Mom” by many and enjoyed talking to people and helping them out when she could. She enjoyed flowers and was recently baptized at First Christian Church in Flora.
She is survived by her children: Gerald Rawls (Kalynn Bargh) of Louisville, Dakota Atkisson of Xenia, and Cheyenne Atkisson of Xenia; her companion: Willie Glass of Xenia; grandchildren: Harley Rawls, Marley Rawls, Raley Rawls, Haiden Atkisson, and Zaine Gibbons; grandmother: Lela Mae Pride of Xenia; brother: D.J. Hill of Clay City; sisters: Brenda Tibbs and Julie Mitchel of Flora, and Shawn Lee Dyer; nephew and nieces: Drake, Zoey, and Dezza Hill; several aunts and uncles; and Willie’s daughters: Misty (Daniel) Powers and children of Rome City, IN, LaToya White of Mason, and Billie Jo (Jake) LeMay and children of Roberts, WI. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; grandparents: Leo and Helen Atkisson; brothers: and Tony Atkisson and Rick Atkisson.
A visitation for Jonnie Atkisson will be held from 4-6 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. Memorial donations may be made to Frank & Bright Funeral Home to assist with expenses. To share a condolence, visit www.frankandbright.com.

sorry to hear about Jonnie i knew her as a child
Some may remember Jonnie as Leo and Helen Atkisson's Granddaughter and Bessie Crown's Great-Granddaughter. All three preceded her in death. She also had two step sisters, Brenda Tibbs and Julie Mitchel of Flora and a step brother Rick Atkisson who preceded her in death also. Jonnie had also recently made connections with another step sister Shawn Lee Dyer. Jonnie will be missed by so many family members and touched our lives in so many different ways.
jonnie was a friend of mine for over thirty years always the same ,would help anyone ,didn't have to ask,her heart and giving new no bounds ,she was a great friend ,loving mom and grand mom ,you will be missed my friend never for gotten ever ,love you my friend
Sorry for your loss. Johnny and I went to school together and where friends for a long time. Many a days we sat to gather in each other's living room talking. Shared our ups and downs and she raised three beautiful children in hard times. She will be missed.
